‘Vamos Juntos 2024’: Magalí and Verónica’s Experience

We are Magalí López (Finance Leader), and Verónica Bianchi (Human Resources Leader), and we want to share the amazing experience we had last month at the second annual edition of “Vamos Juntos”. This event took place in Lima, Perú, and featured two intense days filled with learning, industry-recognized speakers, presentations, debates, and lively interactions across a variety of industry topic panels.

Compared to last year’s summit in Rio de Janeiro, this edition had a more focused approach to exploring, understanding, and leveraging the tools provided by Artificial Intelligence. The general take away was that AI as the potential to be a  a valuable asset to the language services ecosystem and might not pose the threat many of us were thinking.

One of the event’s hot topics was the productivity challenges faced  in a world filled with distractions, overpacked schedules, countless emails, and relentless notifications. We got actionable advice on how to address these daily challenges with consistent, small steps that help us stay organized and optimize our resources to reach our goals.

Another key takeaway from the event was the central role that teamwork and the formation of collaborative ecosystems play in workplace environments. This fosters an atmosphere where every team member feels empowered to contribute ideas and is proud to represent the brand wherever they go. It’s crucial to share knowledge among ourselves and align our purpose at all levels of the organization to keep our businesses on the path to growth.

We also learned about the Peruvian industry—their unique challenges, the obstacles they’ve overcome over the years, and their optimistic outlook for the future. This knowledge was not only relevant to the translation industry but also offered insights into Perú’s broader economic landscape.

Overall, this event was both an enjoyable and enlightening experience for us. We gained valuable insights into our industry and had the opportunity to network and meet representatives from other companies. The stunning Lima sunsets and exquisite cuisine provided the perfect backdrop for this enriching gathering.
